In-house ISO 50001 and Superior Energy Performance Training Now Available

For organizations interested in implementing ISO 50001 and/or Superior Energy Performance (SEP), the Department of Energy is pleased to announce the expansion of the training network to provide multiple trainers for in-house implementation. The instructors are not only Certified Practitioners in Energy Management Systems (CP EnMS) but also experts in ISO 50001 and SEP methodology. Formal training typically includes three 2-day in-person sessions and training webinars, but the program can be customized to meet an organization’s specific needs.

Contact information is listed on the Institute for Energy Management Professionals (IEnMP) website.

AMO Director Mark Johnson Tackles Regional Innovation Opportunities

AMO Director Mark Johnson recently participated in two events that were centered on a common theme: addressing energy challenges and the steps we can take to overcome them. At the 2016 Climate Change Symposium: Water-Energy-Climate Nexus at Northwestern University, Dr. Johnson discussed the key role manufacturing plays in the purification, treatment, and transportation of clean water. At the 2016 National Investing in Manufacturing Communities Partnership (IMCP) Summit in Washington, DC, Johnson participated in a panel regarding the importance of accelerating the growth of manufacturing to increase job creation.
