Metadata Support

The Division of IRTM will assist USFWS staff in updating and publishing metadata files that are fully compliant with the FGDC metadata standards. Contingent upon funding and the availability of staff, the following support services are provided at no cost to USFWS offices:

• Updating existing metadata records to comply with FGDC standards.
• Checking the metadata for errors using the Metadata Parser (MP).
• Publishing the formal metadata in the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service Catalog - ServCat.
