The Missisquoi National Wildlife Refuge partnered with the Friends of Missisquoi NWR to host a first ever day camp for kids ages 15-18. Thanks to a grant from the National Park Service's Champlain Valley National Heritage Partnership the refuge was able to offer the camp for free. The theme of the camp was "culture and ecology" and focused on the unique Native American history of the refuge and blended in local ecology into a week long narrative.

Activities included analyzing Native American pottery and stone tools, investigating the geomorphology of the Missisquoi Delta, learning how to mount botanical specimens and learning about the local Abenaki heritage through videos, artifacts and site visits.
