Friends of Wallkill River National Wildlife RefugePresent Frog Chorus
Northeast Region, May 22, 2010
Print Friendly Version

On May 22, the Friend of Wallkill River presented a program on the frogs of this area and their spring calls.  The audience filled the meeting room in the headquarters building (about 25 attended).  They were given a close look at a male and female green frog, watched a slide presentation showing the frogs, and listened to a CD of the frog calls.  The presentation was followed by a quiz of frog calls.  Working together the group did very well at identifying the different species.  The group then walked down to the pond to return the green frogs and listen to the amphibians calling.  Bullfrogs and green frogs had already started the concert.
