The Office of Electricity Delivery and Energy Reliability held the Resilient Electric Distribution Grid R&D Workshop on June 11, 2014 at the Energy Department's Brookhaven National Laboratory in Upton, New York. The objective of the workshop was to engage stakeholders to identify an initial set of research and development (R&D) needs and projects critical to enhancing the resilience of the electric distribution grid to natural disasters. The feedback provided during the workshop will be further defined and developed by OE as it develops a program plan in 2015 to guide future investments by its Smart Grid R&D Program.
