Smart Grid RFI Public Comments and Replies

As part of its ongoing effort to assist in the formation of policies that will govern the integration of broadband technologies with the Smart Grid, the DOE General Counsel's office issued two Requests for Information (RFIs) in May of 2010. The first RFI was issued to solicit comments from electric utilities, consumer groups, and other stakeholders on ongoing federal, state, and private efforts to protect consumer energy usage data. The second RFI was issued to assist the Department in studying the present and future communications needs of electric utilities as Smart Grid technologies are deployed more broadly across the country.
