The Department of Defense has published a Special Report: Pearl Harbor 74th Anniversary to honor the men and women who sacrificed their lives, and those who fought to preserve the nation's freedom.
The special report features photo essays, videos and stories that inspire.
President President Barack Obama issued a Proclamation, Dec. 4, in which he wrote:
"On National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day, we pay tribute to the men, women, and children —military and civilian — who lost their lives on December 7, 1941, honor all who served in the wake of that infamous day, and recognize the sacrifices today's service members make to carry forward the inextinguishable torch of liberty for generations to come."
