Elizabeth Stephens - Materials Science Engineer, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory

Elizabeth Stephens

Elizabeth Vela Stephens is a materials science engineer at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory whose research focuses on lightweight, high-strength materials for transportation applications, environmental mitigation of materials, and other enabling energy technologies.

She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Washington. In addition to her technical contributions, Elizabeth actively promotes STEM education through a variety of programs. She believes a child’s educational success is a community effort (students, parents, teachers, community) and by enhancing STEM literacy of students and teachers, she can also contribute to their success.
