Field office works to conserve bats in cooperation with federal agencies
Midwest Region, August 20, 2015
Print Friendly Version

Twin Cities Field Office staff experienced a huge increase in Endangered Species Act section 7 workload after the listing of the northern long-eared bat became effective in May 2015. Since that time field office staff have written numerous biological opinions for a variety of federal actions in Minnesota and Wisconsin to ensure that wildlife habitat management, forest management, military training and other activities may be conducted in Minnesota and Wisconsin while minimizing impacts to the bat.
