The Energy Department will present a live webinar titled "How to Jumpstart Your Energy Startup with the SunShot Catalyst Prize Program" on Tuesday, July 28, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time.  The SunShot Catalyst Prize Program is a series of four contests that aims to help teams with a raw idea build a real product that is ready for commercialization.  A recorded video pitch can be used to apply to the SunShot Catalyst Business Innovation contest before August 14, 2015. All entrepreneurs, developers, working professionals, mentors, makers, doers, and enthusiasts are invited to learn more about the program by registering for the webinar here.

July 31:  Live Webinar on Buildings of the Future

The Energy Department  will present a live webinar titled "Buildings of the Future Concluding Workshop - Broadcasted Plenary Session" on Friday, July 31, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time.  This webinar concludes the series of panel discussions exploring the future of our built environment beyond this century. The broadcast plenary includes an overview of the Buildings of the Future vision development process, key takeaways from past panel discussions, and two keynote speeches—by Roland Risser, Building Technologies Office Director, and Chris Pyke, Vice President for Research at the U.S. Green Building Council.

August 5:  Live Webinar on Tribal Renewable Energy Projects

The Energy Department will present a live webinar titled "Best Practices in Procurement: Discover Tribal Benefits through the GSA and Request for Proposal that Guarantee Cost Savings" on Wednesday, August 5, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time.  In this continuation of the Tribal Renewable Energy webinar series, attendees will learn how customized request for proposals (RFP) accelerate tribal energy projects, and speakers will introduce a customizable RFP model that Tribes can use in the solicitation for comparable bids on energy projects. In addition, speakers will explain the influential role DOE played in the successful execution of the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indian's solar photovoltaic project, and discuss the cost-effective procurement strategies implemented during this project.

August 6:  Live Webinar on Climate Change's Regional Impacts Series

The Energy Department will present a live webinar titled "Minorities in Energy - Climate Change's Regional Impacts Series" on Thursday, August 6, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time.  The Minorities in Energy Initiative focuses on the three primary goal areas of STEM education and workforce development, energy economic development, and climate change. This webinar is one of a series of eight upcoming Regional Climate Change Impact Webinars and focuses on the Southeast and Caribbean.  Attendees will hear experts provide findings from the Quadrennial Energy Review (QER), energy job strategies, and the National Climate Impact Assessment.  As part of the QER discussion, we plan to share climate-based findings related to national security, resilience, the grid of the future, environment, grid siting, and shared transport.  The webinar will also outline federal energy policy objectives, proposals, and actions, particularly as they relate to climate change and resilience for underserved communities.

June 24:  Live Webinar on a Hybrid-Ductless Heat Pumps Study

The Energy Department presented a live webinar titled "New Construction Hybrid-Ductless Heat Pumps Study; Resistance is Futile" on Wednesday, June 24.  This webinar focuses on the use of ductless heat pumps (DHP) as a hybrid "all-electric" heating system in new high-performance homes. The presentation details an overview of DHPs and includes energy and economic analysis based on monitored field results of an ENERGY STAR community called The Woods at Golden Given, built by Habitat for Humanity.  Presenters include Micahael Lubliner with Washington State University and Bruce Carter with Tacoma Power.
