What is the International Conservation Chiefs Academy?
The International Conservation Chiefs Academy (ICCA) will bring together 40 leaders of conservation law enforcement agencies from Africa in an effort to build collaborative capacity between international conservation law enforcement agencies. Funding for the ICCA will be provided by the Department of State, Bureau of International Narcotics & Law Enforcement Affairs (INL). The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, Chief, Office of Law Enforcement will host the ICCA at the National Conservation Training Center (NCTC), Shepherdstown, West Virginia. The National Association of Conservation Law Enforcement Chiefs (NACLEC) in conjunction with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Office of Law Enforcement will provide the instruction and facilitate participation. The ICCA is being designed in support of the National Strategy for Combating Wildlife Trafficking.
Where is the training being held?
The training will be held at the National Conservation Training Center, frequently referred to as NCTC, which is located just 60 miles or just over 1 hour outside the Washington DC metropolitan beltway. We ares part of te Shepherdstown, West Virginia community also known for the nearby state college just down the road. Our location is closest to the Washington Dulles International Airport, but there is access to the Baltimore/Washington International and Reagan National (DC) Airports. While at the academy you will be staying at NCTC which will also provide all meals. For more info see: http://nctc.fws.gov/

What are the fees for Visa Services?

While in D.C.
The ICCA will travel to Washington, DC on September 13, 2016. While there, participants will attend meetings at the U.S. Department of Interior buildings, will have a walking tour of the National Mall, and have a special event planned for the evening. Washington, named after the first President of the United States and a “founding father” of our Constitution—George Washington—is the capital of the United States and located along the Potomac River on the country’s east coast. The city was founded in 1791 and has an estimated population of 672,000, but swells to over 1,000,000 during the workweek. It is home to all three branches of the federal government—the legislative, judicial and executive branches. It houses many monuments and museums which are primarily situated on or around the National Mall.
While in Denver
The ICCA will travel to Denver, Colorado on September 16 2016. While there, participants will tour the National Wildlife Property Repository, the National Eagle Repository, and the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge. Located just northeast of Denver, the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge is a 15,000-acre expanse of prairie, wetland and woodland habitat. The land has a unique story - it has survived the test of time and transitioned from farmland, to war-time manufacturing site, to wildlife sanctuary. It may be one of the finest conservation success stories in history and a place where wildlife thrives.
