The Energy Communities Alliance (ECA) held the 2016 National Cleanup Workshop Sept. 14-15, 2016, at the Hilton Alexandria Mark Center in Alexandria, Va. Cooperating organizations for the event included the Department of Energy (DOE) and the Energy Facility Contractors Group (EFCOG).

U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) recently presented the DOE Mentor of the Year award to Los Alamos National Security, LLC, and the DOE Protégé of the Year award to RG Construction Services.

The Department of Energy Office of Environmental Management, Savannah River Site and the Savannah River National Laboratory hosted a Small Business Forum on May 19, 2016. The purpose of the forum was to better recognize innovative technologies with the potential to improve operational performance and reduce costs for environmental cleanup.

October 2015: BES Technologies (BEST) recently received a Small Business Award from Consolidated Nuclear Security (CNS), the Y-12 contractor for the Department of Energy in Oak Ridge, TN. The award was made from the Socioeconomic Programs Office, and other awardees included K-9 Search on Site; Secured Transportation Services, LLC; Personal Computer Systems, Inc.; and Container Technologies Industries, LLC. BEST performs radioactive water, laundry and respirator services.

The Department of Energy (DOE) today announced the award of a Firm-Fixed Unit Rate Task Order to Sage Energy Trading of Jenks, OK. Sage Energy Trading is a Woman Owned Small Business. The Task Order will have a maximum value of $3.5 million over 2 years.

Two Requests for Proposal have been announced by the U.S. Department of Energy, for technical assistance contract acquisition at the Carlsbad Field Office and for management and operation of the NNSA's National Security Complex.
