New Report Documents Environmental Justice Initiative in Los Angeles
CalEPA recognizes the value of targeted, multi-agency enforcement efforts in California’s most vulnerable and environmentally burdened communities. A new report documents how this approach recently led to improved compliance with environmental regulations in the Los Angeles communities of Boyle Heights and Pacoima. The success of the Los Angeles Initiative, together with an earlier initiative in Fresno, has helped to earn CalEPA’s multi-agency working group permanent status as the CalEPA Environmental Justice Task Force.
