July 2007 - Northern Wasco County People's Utility District (PUD), a "not-for-profit" customer-owned utility located in northern Oregon, is now offering the Pure Power program, which gives residential, commercial, and industrial customers the option of purchasing 200-kWh monthly blocks of renewable energy for $5.00, or a rate premium of 2.5¢kWh. To supply the program, the PUD purchases one MW of Environmentally Preferred Power from the Bonneville Power Administration sourced from wind energy projects in Oregon and Washington.
