Featured article: Quick assessment of the economic value of olive mill waste water

Every year, more than 30 million m³ of waste water is produced from the olive oil making process, posing an environmental challenge for many Mediterranean countries. To this end, researchers from Italy's Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche produced this short report on a quick method to assess the economic value of olive mill waste water, via quantification of hydroxytyrosol and tyrosol in olive phenolic-enriched extracts.
