We have to be careful to not disturb the individuals who've made this their home, but we have a duty to keep the bike paths clear and safe for residents and river wildlife.

Did you know California's central coast is home to the second largest seal in the world? Elephant seals spend most of their time at sea but come ashore twice a year in the winter and late spring. This is seal is definitely living the California dream!

& we lived on the Sacramento NWR from 1958 to 1979. He did the Swan ...& snow goose silhouette signs he was awarded recognitio n & he, so I'm told had a bird photo featured on cover of Life magazine for 1957. He passed on in 1995. This Web site is unique on featuring news from all of the refuges. My dad would be proud if he had lived to see the power of on line. Thank you. See More
