The 34th Information Management Conference (IMC) sponsored by the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) will be held at the Gaylord Opryland Convention Center in Nashville, TN, June 15-18, 2015. The conference theme is:
“Mission Excellence through Innovation”
The Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) is committed to an effective, collaborative strategy with the Department’s Programs, Field, and Laboratory Elements. The IMC provides information exchange and training to federal and contractor staff. The goal of the conference is to advance the Department’s mission through policy, standards, and services, which meet mission requirements, balance risk and innovation, and set clear performance goals and expectations for the information ecosystem. Furthermore, the conference is aligned with the Information Resources Management Strategic Plan vision, which aims to collaborate as an enterprise and deliver innovative information management and technology solutions that support the Department’s mission.
The IMC workshops will provide an improved information sharing and communication capability to enhance mission advancement, and will focus on technical and management issues, policy related to IT program management and implementation, and the planning, operation, and security of computers, networks, data, and other departmental assets. Conference topics will include increased use of cloud computing, cybersecurity threat reduction, and other Federal IT initiatives and mandates. Emphasis will be placed on supporting our information consumers, excelling as stewards of enterprise IT resources, enhancing information security and investing in our workforce and partners; all of which are necessary to achieve the Department’s strategic goals.
