Summary:
Reclamation prepared an EIS to evaluate options for management of natural resources on lands within the Newlands Project. The goal of Reclamation's Resource Management Plan (RMP) is to create a balance of resource development, recreation, and protection of natural and cultural resources for the managed lands and waters. The RMP outlines Reclamation management actions that will be implemented over a 10-year planning span.

Status:
11/23/2015:
NOI published in Federal Register on August 15, 2007. Public Scoping Meetings September 18, 2007 in Reno and September 19, 2007 in Fallon. Government-to-government consultation meeting in October 2007 with Fallon Paiute-Shoshone Tribe. ****************************** Draft EIS available for review on May 28, 2013. Comments were due by July 29, 2013. Public meetings on the draft EIS held June 18, 2013 in Fallon, NV and June 19 in Reno, NV. *********************************** Final EIS available on November 18, 2014. ****************************** Record of Decision signed on October 27, 2015.
