Below are dimensions for the BAGS we stock.
These are not dimensions for trash cans.TIP: Bag dimensions need to be larger than the trash can to allow for overhang, grasp, and closure.
linear low density (lld) trash bags are strong, flexible and highly resistant to
puncturing and tearing. They are ideal for kitchen trash,
construction debris or trash that includes glass, metal, wood,
cardboard or irregular shaped items.
high density (hd) can liners are a more cost-effective option. Manufactured
from different resins, they are thinner than Linear Low
Density bags and are not as puncture resistant, yet they can
carry very heavy loads.
Low Density (LD) trash bags are strong, flexible and highly resistant to puncturing and tearing. They are ideal for kitchen trash, construction debris or trash that includes glass, metal, wood, cardboard or irregularly shaped items. The thickness of a Low Density bag is measured in Mil so a higher Mil count means a thicker bag. The Mil count of our trash bags range from 0.7 Mil to 6.0 Mil. Use a higher Mil count bag for sharper, heavier, or larger amounts of trash.
High Density (HD) can liners, because of their chemical composition, are a very cost-effective option, Manufactured from different resins, they are thinner than Linear Low Density bags and are not as puncture resistant, however, they can carry very heavy loads. High Density liners are ideal for office waste, bathroom waste and for trash cans located in many public areas where sharp trash is not deposited. Not recommended for kitchen trash or trash with sharp edges such as glass, nails, wood, or cardboard.
The lightest of our standard strength low density garbage bags, these bags measure 0.7 Mil thick. They’re handy for household use, or in high-traffic areas around your business. The material these trash bags are made of is technically called Linear Low Density resin, or LLD for short. It’s stretchy and flexible, and better able to resist punctures from sharp objects.

Bottom line peace of mind.
When you’re choosing the thickness of your garbage bags, pay close attention to the Mil number. The higher it is, the tougher the bag will be. Thinner bags are more affordable because they use less plastic, so if you’re just dealing with your average household or office trash, regular strength bags like these 0.7 mil trash bags should do the trick. It’s also important to choose waste basket liners that fit your garbage can correctly. If too-small garbage bags are used, they’ll be forever slipping down, and that’s a recipe for leaks. If you’re using extra large garbage bags in a regular sized can, it looks sloppy, invites overfilling, and is generally a waste. This may seem like obvious stuff, but you’d be surprised how often we see it. Of course, when you’re as obsessed with garbage bags as we are, you notice this kind of stuff.
