Athletic, Fitness & Workout Areas

This condo complex in NYC went with our 1” thick Tough-land series using a custom blended mix of 85% Dark Gray, 10% Med Gray and 5% Light Gray to give the area a (and we quote) “rough and tough look”.

The owners decided on one blend of colors in case an area were to be damaged, or the fitness facility needed to be moved on the other side of the building to make way for other recreational activities.

Here this recreational area that serves a dual purpose. It is used as a children’s surfacing for recreational activities during school hours, but most importantly, it is used as an exterior yoga matting area for classes on weekends and at night.

The Pave-Land series was selected to provide a softer surfacing area, while at the same time provide drainage to the drainage outlet, allowing our surfacing to dry much faster. Green was selected in this "concrete jungle" of Brooklyn to give it the “grassy-feel”……after all…..they are outside.....why not make it look like it.

Here you see a weight room fitted with our one inch thick “Tough-Land” series - rubber blocks in the terra cotta (red) color. This superior product offers: noise reduction, excellent traction and abrasion resistance. It also offers excellent footing and will bounce back from dropped free weights and anything else you throw at it.

Whether it is weight room flooring, fitness centers, aerobic or cardio applications, our SOLID 1” thick “Tough-Land” tiles are designed to maximize comfort while at the same time provide functionality and sound proofing thanks to our high compression manufacturing process. Unlike other products on the market, we did not have to redesign the room, nor trim the doors to compensate for the high variances. All that was needed was a traditional “saddle”….common among flooring installations.

More and more park areas are being planned or modified with athletic and fitness equipment as seen here. As part of a water conservation program, this area was designed to use as much permeable surfacing as possible.

Our 1 ¾” thick Pave-Land series provides just that…..and more. Here we used our EPDM/TPV top tiles with a blend of 85% Beige, 10% Mustard, 5% Cream to give it that sandy “beach” look and feel.

Let us help you plan for your next fitness area...........we won't disappoint.

This indoor ice rink has installed our rubber tiles over its current flooring materials to prevent injuries to the children and adults of all ages as a result of everyone trying to sneak into the cafeteria (to the left of the picture) and bathroom (to the right of this picture) without taking off there skates.

“Sprained ankles, bruised elbows and general slips and falls have been greatly reduced thanks to Unity’s products”

We can help you prevent the same as thus customer.

Here we installed our 1 3/4" thick “Pave-Land” series to give this high-end fitness facility in NYC a clean, sleek, original look using the EPDM/TPV top tiles/mats/blocks, blended to fit the décor of the area that is essential to any modern design.

Off to the right, you can see free weights, which as we all know will get dropped onto our indestructible flooring. This will not be a problem for the five-star restaurant below thanks to the superior sound and shock installation values attributed to this premium product.

Here at this Dick’s Sporting goods store, children and adults of all ages can safety enjoy the use of there rock climbing wall knowing that it has a soft surfacing below them.

We have installed our three and a half (3.5") inch thick (Soft-Land Series) material which meets a ten (10’) fall rating................an accomplishment that no other manufacturer has or offers.

If you have excessive drop heights ..............we can help.

Here at this athletic facility, students were challenged by this twelve-foot (12’) rock wall. However, when architects, engineers and designers were looking for a soft flooring material to use, they quickly realized that not many of the manufacturers offered a twelve-foot fall rating.

Not until they can across Unity, which offers such a twelve (12') foot fall rating at four (4") inches thick.

Intricate cut like these are effortless to do with the right installation crew to give this area a nice clean finished look that are tight against the rock wall.

With this fitness area located adjacent to the restaurant, banquet room and pool area, the sound and reverberation from the dropped weights was reduced thanks to our “Tough-Land" series.

The durable construction of our tile system helped absorb the shock-waves while at the same time dampened the sound and vibration to other areas of the facility.

With more and more retirement communities being build around the need to exercise, Unity has helped provide a solution to many residence that have crutches, wheel chairs, canes and/or walkers.

That solution is our unitary rubberized safety surfacing, flooring and paver products in the tile/mat/block form as seen here. Because of the enclosed building, the City of Santa Fe has selected pigmented tiles to create the design shown.

With the use of Unity’s “premium” series (100% EPDM/TPV top tiles), we were able to create a unique surfacing that was customized for this hotels fitness area. Here we have selected a two-tone combination in design; first it was the brown tile with 75% Brown/10% Beige and 5% Black.

The second was a flip of Brown and Beige using 75% Beige/10% Brown and 5” Black. As you can see, the fitness room looks amazing. Since this application, we have completed several other location….one of which is also listed on our “Projects” page...........see below.

The durable 1” thick “Tough-Land” series was part of the clients effort to use “green products” for a “sustainable design project” in an effort to: reduce energy costs for the owners, reduce noise to the rest of the home…..and is made from 90% recycled materials.

Although the image is very blurry, we felt it was extremely important to show you how our product can work in wet basement workout/fitness areas. Here the architect and homeowner owner designed to install our products using the newly patented “running bond method of installation”.

This allows you to offset the seams of our rubber pavers every 5 ½” (inches) to achieve the desired look you are seeking. Here the offset was a 50%, using our custom blended EPDM/TPV top tiles with 45% Black, 45% Dark Grey and 10% Beige.

Personally, we liked the fact that the customer threw in some color to give it some life and excitement to the area.

With this fitness area located adjacent to the restaurant, banquet room and pool area, the sounds and reverberations from the dropped free weights has been reduced thanks to our weight room flooring material known as: “Tough-Land”.
