NOFA New York
NOFA/NY annual winter education conference is a two-day event, with dozens of workshops and speakers discussing everything from the latest developments in organic production to participatory plant breeding. NOFA/NY sponsors another conference for farmers interested in transitioning to organic agriculture. NOFA/NY identifies hurdles to becoming organic and addresses them through targeted workshops, such as veterinarians talking about homeopathic and natural methods for livestock problems. The NOFA/NY newsletter is geared to making the connection between farm and table. Our handouts on matters including genetically engineered crops have been devoted to listing research results, where they exist, and pointing out the gaps in knowledge that confront both consumers and farmers.
