Contractors/Vendors

The Port of Long Beach invests tens of millions of dollars in upgrading and maintaining its facilities. Click here to see some of our pending projects. The Port relies on the services of qualified contractors and vendors from a wide range of industries – construction; trucking; engineering; architecture; environmental planning; real estate appraising; finance; information technology; printing; publishing; mailing and more.

In an effort to make it easier for businesses to bid on projects, the Port has created this virtual business center with information on projects currently out for bid, requests for proposals/quotes (RFP/RFQ), forms and permits required to do business.

There is also information on the Small Business Enterprise (SBE) Program, designed to ensure that small businesses have an equitable opportunity to successfully participate in the Port’s construction and consulting contracts and procurement opportunities.

To receive e-mail notification of projects going out to bid, send an e-mail with your contact information to itbid@polb.com. You are also encouraged to register on The Network, the Port’s online Small Business database that notifies registrants of contract and procurement opportunities with the Port and other participating government agencies.

Caltrans is strongly encouraging local agencies to incorporate two race-neutral measures in their contracts that contain Federal Highway Administration funding. For information please follow the link to Caltrans, www.dot.ca.gov/hq/construc/buildca/.
