Rockford Housing Authority proudly serves the Rockford community through 1,922 public housing units and 2,155 Section Eight Housing Choice Vouchers. Through the realignment of goals and the continuous realignment of the organization, Rockford Housing Authority has made strides to become a better provider of public housing and to have a more positive influence on the economy, social fabric and livability of Rockford.

Rockford Housing Authority (RHA) commits to a portfolio wide 20% reduction in energy consumption by 2020. RHA will reach this goal through the implementation and completion of an Energy Performance Contract. Energy upgrades will take place at seven of nine developments and will include building systems and envelope upgrades, lighting upgrades, water conservation measures, and energy efficient appliance upgrades. RHA realizes that reaching the 20% reduction goal will not be possible without resident participation. RHA will include on-going education for all residents.
