Kohl's is committed to conserving and protecting the environment by seeking innovative solutions that encourage long-term sustainability. As a national retail company, Kohl's knows that its biggest impact on the environment comes from the energy use of its more than 1,000 stores and has made managing energy use a key strategy for driving savings and conserving resources. Kohl's manages energy-related initiatives in energy management, ENERGY STAR certification and renewable energy, including solar. By joining the Better Buildings Challenge, Kohl's commits to reduce its use of energy in more than 112 million square feet of occupied building space by at least 20 percent by 2020.
