New Zealand ShakeOut is not being held in 2016.

Thank you for taking part in New Zealand ShakeOut 2015. Over 1.36 million Kiwis took part in the drill on the day. Many of you shared your ShakeOut videos, photos and stories, see them here:

Remember to Share your ShakeOut photos, videos, and stories and complete your Observer online survey.

If you didn't take part in the drill, it's not too late . Click on the Register Here link above and sign up to be counted. All the resources you need to plan and carry out your drill are on the Resources page, including tips for businesses, help for people with disabilities and teaching resources for schools.

  • Learn about disasters and how to keep safe
  • Create and practice a household emergency plan
  • Assemble and maintain emergency survival items
  • Have a getaway kit in case you have to leave in a hurry
