FirstEnergy Corp. RFP
seeking proposals to purchase both Ohio-compliant solar renewable energy credits (SRECs) and renewable energy credits (RECs) for its Ohio utilities: Ohio Edison, Cleveland Electric Illuminating and Toledo Edison. The RFP is seeking 6,500 SRECs and 230,000 RECs, which will be used to meet the companies’ 2016 renewable energy targets.
The SRECs and RECs must be able to be used for compliance with its 2016 renewable energy obligations in accordance with rules and procedures put forth by the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO), deliverable through PJM-EIS GATS, and generated between Jan. 1, 2014, and Dec. 31, 2016. The RFP process will be managed by Navigant Consulting Inc. All bidders are encouraged to submit credit applications by October 31, 2016.

October 27, 2016 | Public Service Company of Oklahoma (PSO) RFP
seeking proposals for additional wind energy resources to be in commercial operation by December 31, 2018. Proposed projects must be located in Oklahoma and must have a minimum nameplate rating of 80 megawatts (MW). A bidders’ Conference will be held on October 12, 2016.

November 15, 2016 | Alabama Power RFP
seeking renewable resource or an environmentally specialized generating resource including wind, solar, hydro and geothermal power. The RFP seeks both power purchase agreements and turnkey facilities that the utility would own. Interested bidder must submit a notice of intent before October 14, 2016.

October 25, 2016 | Xcel Energy RFO seeking up to 1,500 megawatts of nameplate wind capacity through Power Purchase Agreements or Build-Own-Transfer agreements. All projects must have or will have an interconnection location within Midwest Independent Transmission System Operator in a state where Xcel customers or generation resources are located including Michigan, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota or Wisconsin. Proposed projects must be at least 75 MW and Xcel Energy expects to file for regulatory approval of selected projects in spring 2017.

The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) RFI seeking information from parties that have an interest to design, supply, install, finance, operate, and maintain a system that would provide solar photovoltaic generated electricity from: 1) on the roof of existing ADOT buildings and on new Developer constructed covered parking structures to power ADOT buildings; 2) on surplus ADOT rights-of-way that are near existing power lines with the intent of selling the power to utilities.

Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI) RFP seeking proposals to develop at least 16 MW of community-solar systems in Rochester, New York. RMI will be partnering with community organization Rochester Solar Power Organizational Team (ROCSPOT). RMI and ROCSPOT will consider bids for 9 sites capable of hosting the 16 MW systems. Interested parties should address their intent to take part in the RFP to the contact by August 12.

The County of Santa Cruz (on behalf of the County of Monterey and County of San Benito) RFP seeking proposals from qualified proposers for the design, procurement of materials, permitting, installation, interconnection, and all associated documentation, financing, maintenance, and warranties of solar PV systems to be located at 32 municipal facilities located within the boundaries of the participants' jurisdictions. The cumulative potential capacity for solar generation across the 32 sites in this RFP is expected to be 6.97 MW for on-site distributed generation, plus an additional 29.83 MW of potential "solar farm" capacity spread among 4 of those sites. A mandatory pre-proposal meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at 8:30 am at the Santa Cruz County Government Center. All interested proposers are required to attend the pre-proposal meeting.

Arbor Wind RFP seeking proposals to solicit potential responder to participate in providing renewable energy to facilities designated in the Approved Recipient List. The Responder will have either (1) full ownership of the wind turbine AND full rights for advertising (in accordance with local/state/federal government requirements), OR (2) full rights for advertising only (in accordance with local/state/federal government requirements). Arbor Wind will be responsible for providing and installing one or multiple Vertical Axis Wind Turbines at the selected site(s) on behalf of the Responder.

Innovative Solar Systems RFP seeking bids from potential buyers of nine utility-scale solar projects under construction totaling over 300 MW. The projects range in size from 20 MW to 80 MW, and will be online by the end of 2016 or in 2017. The company's projections indicate an approximate return of 15% for the debt equity investor and about a 35% return for the tax credit investor.
