Parking:
A special parking rate of $10 is available in the Gaylord Hotel’s self-parking garage.  This rate is not available at other garages in National Harbor.  Bring your parking stub to the event for validation.

* Albert A. Michelson Award honors a civilian scientist, technical innovator or technical organization for scientific or technical achievement that results in a significant improvement in the strength of our maritime forces or to the enhancement of our industrial technology base. In selecting the Michelson Award recipient, the committee will give consideration to single event contributions, such as inventions and technological innovations, or long-term scientific development work. 

2016 Winner – Mr. James A. “Jim” Drake recently retired as the General Manager of the Curtiss Wright Electro-Mechanical Division (EMD) located in Cheswick, PA.  EMD is the world leader in the design and development of advanced electrical machinery used in high-performance platforms requiring technical sophistication.  EMD was the first privately owned facility in the United States dedicated to the design and manufacture of nuclear components, including providing equipment for the USS Nautilus and the world’s first commercial nuclear power plant in Shippingport, PA.
