December 23, 2016   – Governor Markell reminds Delawareans that with more people on the move this time of year the holiday season brings increased dangers of driving-related accidents from impaired and distracted driving, and he shares simple precautions everyone should take to stay safe on our roadways.

Governor Markell Recognizes 150th Anniversary of 13th Amendment, Announces Effort with Legislature to Apologize for State’s Role in Slavery

December 6, 2015 - Joined by state legislators, community advocates and local parishioners during a worship service at Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church, Governor Markell today recognized the 150th anniversary of the ratification of the 13th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution to legally abolish slavery.
