The proper siting of any renewable energy system is critical to its success. However, siting a solar energy system can be particularly challenging because of the varying nature of the sun. Daily weather fluctuations and seasonal position changes can have significant effects on a system's performance. These and other factors must be considered by architects, engineers, energy analysts, and others. The information provided by RReDC can be used to ensure optimum system siting.
In addition, RReDC offers a solar resource glossary, unit conversion information, and an inventory of useful solar radiation and solar energy resources.
