The Energy Department is committed to responsibly developing, demonstrating, and deploying innovative technologies to support the continued expansion of the geothermal industry across the United States.

Energy Department Receives Award for First-of-its-Kind Geothermal Project

The Department of Energy and the University of North Dakota have been recognized by the Geothermal Energy Association for launching the first commercial project that produces geothermal power from an oil and gas well.
