Do you have questions about ways to reduce your energy use, improve the comfort of your home or save money on your energy bill? Now is your chance to ask experts at the Energy Department.

To celebrate Earth Day, we will be hosting a Google+ Hangout on April 22 to discuss ways you can save energy and money at home. Whether you want to know if you would benefit from air sealing or how to install solar panels on your home, residential energy efficiency and renewable energy experts will be on hand to answer your home efficiency questions. The live discussion will be streamed on Google+, YouTube and energy.gov/live.

But you don’t have to wait until Earth Day to submit your questions. You can start sharing your home energy efficiency success stories and questions today. Just create a short, 30-second video, upload it to YouTube and tag it with #askEnergy. In order for your success story or question to be considered, be sure to submit it by April 16 and share your name and where you are from at the beginning of the video.

During the live discussion, we will be selecting several video questions to answer in addition to taking real-time questions from Twitter and Google+ tagged with #askEnergy. You can also submit questions by emailing us at newmedia@hq.doe.gov or posting in the comments on the Energy Department’s Facebook page.

Stay tuned to www.energy.gov, for more information on the Google+ Hangout, and check out Energy Saver for tips and advice on ways to save energy and money.
