[close] Looking for a unique book club to join? Please consider the Adventist Bibliophiles. Part book club, part community organization, and part social group – our overall goal is to increase spiritual well-being and literacy through sharing the love of reading. We’ll be delving into a variety of books, mostly those written by modern-day Seventh Day Adventist/Christian authors with the hope of creating a safe and fun place to learn and discuss issues of faith and current hot topics in Christianity for personal enrichment. You don’t have to be an Adventist to join, all are welcomed. The Beliefs of the Seventh - day Adventist Church: Seventh-day Adventist Christians hold the Bible as the only source of our faith. From Scripture, we hold 28 fundamental beliefs that can be organized into six categories: the doctrines of God, humanity, salvation, the church, Christian living and restoration. “In each teaching, God is the architect, who in wisdom, grace, and infinite love, is restoring a relationship with humanity that will last for eternity” (adventist.org). [close] Jonathan Sandys, a great-grandson of Britain's wartime Prime Minister Sir Winston Churchill, is thrilled to answer questions on the subject of his recently released book: 'God & Churchill: How the Great Leader's Sense of Divine Destiny Changed his Troubled World and Offers Hope for Ours' 'God & Churchill' breaks new ground on the life of Sir Winston Churchill. "It is evidence that historians until now have been incorrect in ascribing Churchill an agnostic or atheist." Jonathan states that "Great-Grandpapa, by his own admission had a very real faith, and the evidence my co-author Wallace Henley and I present, strongly supports Churchill's own expressed belief that his life was both directed and protected by Divine intervention." This group will remain active indefinitely. Jonathan will return to answer questions weekly. Throughout 2016, there will also be opportunities for live discussions with Jonathan.
