Ted Stanich

Ted assumed the post of Associate Administrator of OHS in October 2019.  From January 2018 to October 2019, Ted served as the OHS Acting Associate Administrator.  Prior to that, Ted served as the Deputy Director of EPA’s Criminal Investigation Division (CID) in the Office of Criminal Enforcement, Forensics, and Training (OCEFT) and had been a special agent within OCEFT for over 27 years.

Ted brings a wealth of experience to this important position in the Administrator’s Office. He has served in several investigative and management positions within CID, and as the Special Agent in Charge of the Washington (DC) Area Office. After responding to the 9/11 attacks and anthrax attacks in 2001, he led the creation of the National Criminal Enforcement Response Team (NCERT), one of EPA’s Special Teams.

Ted also served as the Senior Law Enforcement Intelligence Advisor to OCEFT at the FBI’s National Joint Terrorism Task Force (NJTTF) for two years, during which time he was instrumental in raising awareness within the Intelligence Community of EPA’s response role and capabilities in the event of a Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) terrorist attack. In 2007, he became the Deputy Director of the Homeland Security Division (HSD) within OCEFT, focusing on environmental vulnerabilities related to WMD terrorism and water security. He has also served as an instructor in environmental crime, white collar crime, and homeland security at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center.

Ted holds a BA in Russian and a BS in Criminal Justice from Bowling Green State University, and an MPA in Public Policy and Management from Ohio State University.
