The Northeast Fishery Center (Center), located in Lamar, PA plays a leading role in guiding the science and technology that is foundational to species and habitat conservation in the United States. The Center is organized into three main branches: Fish Health, Fish Technology and Population Ecology. We provide expertise in fish culture, fish health, stream ecology and fish biology, population monitoring & assessment, and conservation genetics.
We seek to better understand aquatic species and the dynamic ecosystems in which they live. Through our work, we assist managers in making sound decisions that build sustainable fisheries, recover endangered and threatened species, and maintain healthy ecosystems and habitats throughout the northeastern United States and along the Atlantic coast. |
