BuddyJuillet 3, 2012Don't cross that white solid line while under the tunnel for ANY reason! There are cameras all along the entire tunnel which will take a picture of your license plate and nail you with a huge ticket!!

The right side of the tolls is usually less congested than the left. Everyone getting off of 139 usually stays to the left.

From NJ, shoot for lanes 1 or 4, the left lane moves faster and merging is faster from the outer toll gates. From NY... Good luck.

Only tip I can give is stay away from the tunnel. Period. Almost never a goof time to go.
Stay to the outside lanes if you pay with cash, inside with EZ-Pass.
This "merge of death" isn't for the faint of heart... often the exterior toll lanes are the fastest.

If paying cash, stay n the far right lane, it always seems to move much quicker than the other Cash lane.
avoid this tunnel during rush hour. it is always super packed.
