Victor Kane serves as the Director of the National Lab Impact Initiative in the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE).

To more effectively use national laboratory resources, EERE launched the National Laboratory Impact Initiative in December 2013. The Initiative emphasizes the importance of commercializing lab work by bringing together leaders from government, academia, national laboratories, and the private sector to increase understanding and communication for an effective lab-industry relationship.

After working at General Electric and a solar cell startup, Suniva, Victor joined EERE and began working within the SunShot Initiative. Within that program, he led the expansion of the SunShot Incubator program.  Under his leadership, he helped to amplify the successful incubator model across all solar technologies from research to deployment, and he later chaired the working group that resulted in the technology office incubators. Victor's focus on active program management and dedication to process innovations have helped SunShot Incubator awardees consistently leverage their proofs of concept into private investment and eventual commercialization through sales and acquisition.

He earned a Bachelor and a Master of Science degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Master of Business Administration from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
