December 2008 - SUEZ Energy Resources North America, a subsidiary of global energy provider GDF SUEZ, has announced a donation of renewable energy certificates (RECs) to the New England Aquarium in Boston, Massachusetts. The donation of 1.68 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of Green-e certified wind RECs is enough to supply about 20% of the Aquarium’s energy needs. Featuring a new exhibit on global climate change and its effect on oceans and marine life, the aquarium has about 1.3 million visitors annually, including over 100,000 schoolchildren.
