February 2012 - Greenerprinter and Giovanni Food Company have joined Green-e Marketplace by purchasing Green-e Energy certified renewable energy certificates to meet their electricity demands. By participating in Green-e Marketplace, both companies can now display the Green-e logo to inform customers of their purchases of renewable energy.
Greenerprinter purchased 304 megawatt-hours (MWh) of Green-e Energy certified wind power, enough to meet 100 percent of the annual electricity needs for its U.S. operations, including its headquarters and printing facility. The purchase is supplied by Sterling Planet. Giovanni Food Company's purchase of 1,440 MWh of Green-e Energy certified wind is supplied by Constellation Energy. Giovanni's green power purchase matches 60 percent of the electricity needs at its manufacturing facility.

September 2010 - Goodwill Industries International entered a two-year agreement with Constellation NewEnergy Inc. to purchase wind energy equivalent to 100% of the estimated annual energy use at its headquarters in Rockville, Md. The renewable energy certificates (RECs) will be sourced from Green-e Energy certified resources.
The purchase is part of an initiative for Goodwill and its independent member agencies to green their facilities to meet Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) standards.

June 2010 - Datapipe, a provider of managed hosting and IT services, is purchasing nearly 9 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of green power annually, the equivalent of 100 percent of its total purchased electricity use for its New Jersey data centers. April 2010 - The New York Stock Exchange purchased renewable energy certificates (RECs) to match 100 percent of the approximately 28 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) used each year. May 2009 - Constellation NewEnergy Inc. announced it has been awarded an electricity and renewable energy supply contract by the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) that will supply more than 150 federal agency and institutional customers in Washington, D.C. Under a two year contract, Constellation NewEnergy will supply 1.8 million MWh of electricity and more than 90,000 MWh of renewable energy certificates (RECs) annually. The supply will meet the GSA requirement that 5 percent of their total demand be supplied from renewable energy or a REC equivalent. The building sites include the U.S. Capitol, Kennedy Center, Smithsonian Institution, FBI, and the Federal Reserve.

March 2009 - In January, McCormick and Company, Inc. announced the completion of one of the largest solar power installations in Maryland. Constellation Energy installed 2,100 Solar World 175 watt crystalline solar panels and 92,000 square feet of thin-film photovoltaic material at the McCormick’s Hunt Valley Distribution Center and adjacent McCormick Spice Mill. The one-megawatt system is expected to generate approximately 1.1 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually to supply approximately 30 percent of the electricity needs of the Hunt Valley buildings.

August 2008 - The U.S. Open professional tennis tournament was powered with wind energy for the first time in 2008. Under an agreement with Constellation NewEnergy, the U.S. Tennis Association (USTA) purchased an estimated 2 million kilowatt hours (kWh) of Green-e certified wind renewable energy certificates (RECs) to match the electricity consumption for the duration of the U.S. Open, from August 25 through September 7, 2008. The purchase marks a first in professional U.S. tennis, following recent purchases of green energy or carbon offsets by professional sports franchises, venues, and events in U.S. professional baseball, football, and golf, among others.
In addition to the wind energy purchase, the USTA has also partnered with the National Resources Defense Council to distribute 100,000 wallet cards containing "Eco-Tips" on environmentally friendly practices. The USTA has also sponsored public service announcements concerning the environment on video boards at the event and on the U.S. Open website. They are also using a newly-designed U.S. Open green logo reminding fans to reduce, reuse, and recycle and have implemented a reuse and recycling program for waste at the event.

May 2008 - Owens Corning, a Fortune 500 global manufacturer of glass composites and producer of residential and commercial building materials, announced that it is purchasing green power for its Gresham, Oregon foam insulation plant. Under the agreement with Constellation NewEnergy, Owens Corning has committed to purchase 25 million kWh of Green-e certified wind energy certificates sourced from Texas facilities, which is expected to be enough wind energy to power 100% of the plant's needs for one year. The plant will be operational in the second quarter of 2009.

February 2008 - Citigroup announced that it is purchasing green power for its newest skyscraper in New York and has increased its green power purchases by 55% over 2007 levels. Under an agreement with Constellation NewEnergy, Citigroup has committed to buy 56 million kWh of certified wind energy certificates, which is enough to meet 100% of the energy load for the next five years at Two Court Square in Long Island City, New York. The facility has been awarded Gold Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification by the U.S. Green Building Council.

October 2007 - Twenty-seven companies, organizations and individuals were recognized with national achievement awards at the Twelfth National Renewable Energy Marketing Conference in Philadelphia. The Green Power Leadership Awards recognize actions that are significantly advancing the development of renewable electricity sources through renewable energy markets. February 2007 - The City of Evanston, Illinois has committed to use green power for 20% of the electricity needs of its municipal facilities. Under an agreement with Constellation NewEnergy, Evanston is purchasing 5.5 million kWh of renewable energy certificates (RECs) sourced from wind energy facilities. The RECs purchase will add about $7,000 to the cost of the energy agreement, or 0.13¢/kWh.
The decision to purchase RECs is another step in the city's ongoing environmental efforts, which include replacing city traffic lights with energy efficient bulbs and using cleaner burning bio-diesel fuel in city vehicles.

December 2006 - The Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC), one of the 10 largest water and wastewater utilities in the nation, has committed to a 10-year wind power purchase to meet one-third of the agency's overall electricity use. The 70 million kWh annual purchase, equivalent to 30 MW of wind energy capacity, makes WSSC the number one local government user of renewable energy in the United States, according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Green Power Partnership.
WSSC is contracting with Constellation NewEnergy to purchase power from a new wind farm to be constructed in Somerset County, Pa. The arrangement involves paying a fixed price over 10 years, which WSSC estimates will save the agency $20 million dollars over the life of the contract while also providing long-term electricity price stability.

February 2006 - Tom's of Maine, a leading maker of natural personal care products, announced that it will purchase renewable energy for 100% of the electricity needs of its 100,000 square foot manufacturing and fulfillment facility in Sanford, Maine. In partnership with Constellation NewEnergy and Clean Air-Cool Planet, Tom's will purchase 1.15 million kWh of Green-e certified renewable energy certificates annually from the Ainsworth Wind Energy Facility in Nebraska to offset the electricity consumed by the facility.

March 2003 - Working in conjunction with Maine PowerOptions (MPO), a not-for-profit consortium that serves as an aggregator for the state's governmental and non-profit organizations, Constellation NewEnergy has entered into a contract to supply renewable energy to a hospital in Maine. Under the agreement, York Hospital will purchase renewable energy to meet 100% of its electricity needs at a cost that is less than 0.5¢/kWh higher than Constellation NewEnergy's standard electricity rate. July 2002 - AES NewEnergy is partnering with the Environmental Resources Trust (ERT), a certifier and broker of green power, to offer a renewable energy option to non-residential customers in Illinois. Customers can buy green energy certificates supplied from existing (60%) and new (40%) landfill methane facilities to meet any portion of their electricity needs. The green power price premium varies depending on the volume purchased. AES NewEnergy currently supplies green power to the state of Illinois, which has committed to purchase green power to meet at least 5% of the state government's electricity needs.
