November 2012 - FairPoint Communications, in collaboration with Crius Energy, has launched a green power offering for Maine and New Hampshire customers. Customers in each state are able to purchase 100-percent wind energy from a newly created joint venture called FairPoint Energy. In Maine, customers can choose between FairPoint Savings and FairPoint Local Wind. FairPoint Savings offers Maine customers the ability to reduce their energy supply costs by a guaranteed 10 percent and FairPoint Local Wind allows customers to purchase wind power generated by local wind farms which directly support customers' local economies.
In New Hampshire, customers are able to purchase FairPoint Green, which allows them to both purchase power generated by 100-percent renewable resources and realize a guaranteed 10-percent reduction in energy supply costs.
