Glaciated Soil Survey Region 12 (SSR 12), as part of the National Cooperative Soil Survey program, provides technical leadership and support in the production, quality assurance, and delivery of scientifically based soil survey and ecological site inventory information throughout the northeastern United States from the Great Lakes to New England.
The SSR 12 office is located in Amherst, Massachusetts and covers all of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont, most of New York, and parts of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, New Jersey, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.
