GAP maintains other data of interest, including legacy (older) data:
1. ANCILLARY DATA
Ancillary data sets such as elevation, hydrography, and forest interior data were developed to support the species modeling effort:
- Download all ancillary data for the entire U.S. (NOTE: file size is 21 Gb, data are divided up by species modeling regions. You will need 7zip or other program to decompress the file) BEGIN DOWNLOAD >>
- Explore and download REGIONAL ancillary data >>
2. REGIONAL GAP DATA
Regional datasets from prior gap analysis initiatives are available:
- Northwestern US – NW GAP Regional Website >> (includes Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana and Wyoming)
- Southwestern US – SW Regional GAP Website >> (includes Colorado, Utah, Nevada, Arizona, and New Mexico)
- Southeastern US – SE Regional GAP Website >> (State download pages: Alabama – Florida – Georgia – Kentucky – Mississippi – North Carolina – South Carolina – Tennessee – Virginia)
- Alaska – Alaska GAP Website >>
- Puerto Rico – Puerto Rico Species data >> (opens an FTP site directory with access to species data)
2012 Puerto Rico Land Cover data >> (zipped .img file)
3. LEGACY STATE LEVEL DATA
These are the data from the original state GAP projects. These datasets consist of land cover, stewardship species distribution models, and assorted ancillary data, clipped to a state boundary. Land cover maps were compiled using Landsat 5 Thematic Mapper satellite imagery. The data are in ESRI arcgrid or shapefile format. These data should not be considered current.
