Volunteers came to the rescue when they restored a plot of bare ground badly damaged by heavy construction equipment in the Schoolyard Habitat. 

First we used a technique called lasagna layering to kill and compost unwanted grass and weeds. Then we added compost to improve and prepare healthy soil. Master Gardeners chose a variety of native plants suitable for the soil and growing conditions and designed the layout for the 1700 square foot section of garden.

The result after three months of preparation - a paradise for pollinators and an opportunity for visitors to observe them in their natural habitat. Come and enjoy!
