How to Donate to Help Save Birds

The Neotropical Migratory Bird Conservation Act and the North American Wetlands Conservation Act accept monetary donations. Donated funds go directly to grants to conserve migratory birds throughout the western hemisphere.

To donate, please make your check or money order payable to the "U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service" and in the memo area, write the name of the program you wish to donate to. Each donor will receive a written acknowledgement of the donation. Mail your check or money order to:

Why Donate?
Your donation goes directly to projects that conserve migratory birds and their habitat. Projects encompass a range of activities, such as population management, habitat restoration and protection, research, law enforcement and education.

No matter the size of your contribution, it will go where it counts. Your donation may also be tax deductible! Contact your tax advisor to find out.

Who receives funding?
Any organization or individual is welcome to compete for funding. The applicants’ proposals are scrutinized and selected by a group of experts, and grants are managed by the FWS.

To learn more about our work, visit the NAWCA Project Summaries and NMBCA Project Summaries pages to browse the projects we have funded to date.

Other Donation Opportunities
Our Federal Duck Stamp and Junior Duck Stamp programs also accept direct donations.

Your donation to the Federal Duck Stamp Program will help to conserve habitat for migratory birds and other wildlife on our nation's  national wildlife refuges. The Federal Duck Stamp Program is one of the nation's oldest and most successful conservation efforts, resulting in the conservation of more than 6.5 million acres to date.

A donation to the Junior Duck Stamp Program supports the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service's premier conservation education programs, which combines science and the arts to educate tens of thousands of children each year about waterfowl, wetlands and environmental responsibility.

To donate to the Federal or Junior Duck Stamp Program, please make your check or money order payable to the "U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service" and in the memo area, write the name of the program you wish to donate to. Each donor will receive a written acknowledgement of the donation. These donations may also be tax deductible.
