Neotropical Migratory Bird Conservation Act

To assist in carrying out Neotropical Migratory Bird Conservation Act (NMBCA), the Secretary of the Interior in 2006 convened an Advisory Group of individuals representing public and private organizations actively involved in conserving neotropical migratory birds. This Advisory Group includes members of theNorth American Wetlands Conservation Council, as well as other bird conservation professionals.

Members of the Advisory Group bring to the table diverse perspectives, from state natural resource agency managers to national nongovernmental conservation organizations. Members represent the United States, Mexico, Central and South American nations.

The Advisory Group meets at least once a year, in conjunction with a North American Wetlands Conservation Council meeting, to discuss the NMBCA and make recommendations to the Director of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service on the direction of the program. Meetings are open to the public.
