In a recent workshop hosted by the Earth System Research Laboratory and the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Science (CIRES), ten teachers from Boulder-area elementary and middle schools got a sneak peek of SOS Explorer™ (SOSx™), a downloadable flat-screen version of NOAA's hugely popular Science on a Sphere (SOS). Slated for release on September 1st, SOSx will make SOS technology and datasets, now found in museums and science centers, available to everyone including teachers and their classrooms.
