The university works hard to make the GW experience a realistic option for every admitted student through our Fixed Tuition program, generous financial aid packages and admissions merit scholarships.
The Office of Student Financial Assistance offers several types of assistance to help you bridge the gap between your contribution and the total cost of attendance. This includes:
federal and institutional grants
institutional scholarships
loans
the opportunity to participate in the Federal Work Study Program
educational benefits for student veterans and military personnel
We are committed to attracting academically qualified students who want to attend GW.
The tuition you pay as an entering student remains fixed for your entire time as an undergraduate as long as you maintain continuous full-time enrollment and are registered for a minimum of 12 semester hours of study each fall and spring term.
Your fixed tuition rate is applicable for up to 10 semesters of study if a fifth year is required to achieve your academic goals.
You are required to meet all financial aid deadlines to be fully considered for need-based assistance. Need-based assistance is only available to eligible U.S. citizens and permanent residents. International students are not eligible for need-based assistance.
All freshman, transfer and international applicants are automatically considered for merit-based scholarships as part of the admissions process and no application is required.
If you are a D.C. high school student and meet specific criteria you will be eligible to receive funding equivalent to what you would receive if you were to enroll at a public university outside of D.C.
