CAMEO - Computer-Aided Management of Emergency Operations
CAMEO is an integrated software suite designed to aid emergency personnel in emergency planning, management, and response. It is comprised of 4 software programs, CAMEOfm, Marplot, CAMEO Chemicals, and Aloha. In essence, CAMEOfm is the database, much like Access, Filemaker, Oracle, etc. Marplot is the GIS or mapping program. CAMEO Chemicals is a chemical information database containing electronic versions of MSDS sheets, the Emergency Response Guidebook, and the CHRIS manual, Aloha is an air-dispersion modeling program.

CAMEO and Marplot Import Files
CAMEO Import files are database files which can be imported into CAMEOfm. Usually, these files hold information on Incidents, Special Locations, Routes, or Resources. MIE files are map import files for Marplot and act similarly to shapefiles in other GIS software. MIE files do not hold any information beyond the map location, feature type, and feature name. However, Marplot features can be linked with CAMEO records to create a pseudo-GIS. For more information on importing and linking CAMEO and Marplot, please see CAMEO Tips above.
