Signed document iconEnhanced-Use Lease (EUL) is an important component of the VA’s overall asset management program.  In return for allowing VA property to be leased for non-VA uses (which must be compatible with or benefit the Department’s mission) on Department-controlled land, VA can require rent in the form of, monetary payments or other “in-kind” consideration, which in the opinion of the Secretary enhances a particular VA activity’s mission.

BURR logoThe Building Utilization Review and Repurposing (BURR) initiative is a VA strategic effort to identify and repurpose underutilized VA land and buildings nationwide in support of VA’s goal to end Veteran homelessness.  The BURR initiative is assessing existing real estate assets with the potential to develop new housing opportunities for homeless or Veterans and their families at-risk for homelessness through public-private partnerships and VA’s EUL program.
