TITLE XVII OPEN SOLICITATIONS

LPO has more than $24 billion in remaining loan authority to help finance innovative clean energy projects.

The Title XVII innovative clean energy projects (Title XVII) loan program provides loan guarantees to accelerate the deployment of innovative clean energy technology.  The U.S. Department of Energy is authorized to issue loan guarantees pursuant to Title XVII of the Energy Policy Act of 2005. Loan guarantees are made to qualified projects and applicants who apply for funding in response to open technology-specific solicitations.

The Title XVII loan program applies to a wide range of energy technologies, including advanced fossil energy, nuclear energy, renewable energy and energy efficiency.  Eligible projects for the Title XVII loan program must utilize a new or significantly improved technology, avoid, reduce or sequester greenhouse gases, be located in the United States, and have reasonable prospect of repayment.  LPO is currently accepting applications in response to open Title XVII solicitations:

LPO has issued guidance in the form of a supplement to to the Renewable Energy and Efficient Energy Projects solicitation on the kinds of Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Infrastructure projects it can support.

Solicitation Deadlines Update (November 29, 2016)

LPO has been advised the Paperwork Reduction Act number applicable to the Title XVII solicitations has been extended for three years. The next solicitation Part I deadline will be January 18, 2017 and the next Part II deadline will be February 15, 2017.
