The Underground Storage Tank (UST) Program is responsible for ensuring operational compliance and cleanup of leaks from registered UST systems. The program is organized into four units and receives support from an additional unit as follows:
- Corrective Action Unit I manages leaking UST sites covered by the Georgia UST (GUST) Trust Fund
- Corrective Action Unit II manages leaking UST sites ineligible for coverage by the GUST Trust Fund, oversees the State Contractor Team, and administers the federal cleanup grant
- Petroleum Industry Regulatory Unit ensures operational compliance for USTs located inside of the metro Atlanta air non-attainment area
- Regulatory Compliance Unit ensures operational compliance for USTs located outside of the metro Atlanta air non-attainment area and administers the federal prevention grant
- Trust Fund Coordination Unit assists the UST program by administering the GUST Trust Fund and program income and expenditures
